Wine Made Art

Every year in September TOKARA celebrates the release of their new vintage wines with exquisite works of art, paintings made by up and coming artists using TOKARA red wine. The Wine Made Art concept was created in 2006 to encourage new and creative methods of incorporating wine experience in art. It was conceptualized by Cape Town agency Riot (now Coley Porter Bell), which was awarded a Golden Loerie for the campaign in July 2007.
Every year a different theme is selected and artists are commissioned to produce paintings according to the theme. Over the years themes such as “Celebrate Africa” and “Textures of TOKARA” has inspired artists to create outstanding paintings, many of them published on the front pages of local magazines. The public can view the artworks at the winery from September until the end of December every year. Currently open for viewing: 2013 Selected works: Theme – ‘In my Bos se strate’ (In the streets of Stellenbosch)
